Behind Everen are actuaries and mathematicians that believe in accuracy, traceability and transparency. We believe that everyone working with pension fund liabilities should have full control over the actuarial assumptions used and have the tools to understand their impact.
Meet the founders
Helgi Bjarnason
Helgi Bjarnason has spent his career at the intersection of actuarial science and business leadership. Trained as an actuary with a Master's degree from the University of Copenhagen, he went on to lead insurance and financial businesses for nearly three decades, most recently as CEO of VÍS, one of Iceland's largest insurers. Seeing a large need to add transparency to how pension funds manage and report on their liabilities to leadership and boards, he founded Everen.
Margret V. Bjarnadóttir
Margret is a Professor at the University of Maryland and now a serial entrepreneur. She earned her PhD from MIT in Operations Research (the field of mathematical decision-making). Whether building companies or teaching her students, her goal has always been to translate complex mathematical concepts into intuitive decision tools. This philosophy is at the heart of Everen: building internal knowledge and supporting better decision-making.
